Answers to Frequently Asked Questions:

  • Do I need to be a member to purchase from sellers on this site?

    No. Only sellers need to be members. Of course, members can also purchase from other sellers, but you are welcome to purchase from sellers without being a registered member.

  • What benefits does membership get for me?

    Membership provides a store (or stores) where you can sell your merchandise.

  • What is the fee for membership?

    There are four standard levels or packages available allowing you to list up to 100, 250, 500 or 2000 items. See the sellers page in the mall of your choice for details of the prices and number of listings associated with each. The owner of Main Street Malls reserves the right to increase prices from time to time.

  • Can I have more than one membership or store?

    Yes. You can have as many memberships as you wish to purchase. You can open additional stores in as many malls as you like.

  • Do you have a trial period? If I don't like it here, can I get a refund?

    We don't have a trial period and we don't issue refunds. Sorry. If you decide to close your store within the first seven days, we will issue a credit of the full initial fee against your first month should you return within 90 days. We post clearly stated policies, answer every email question personally, and you can interact with other sellers on our discussion forum, so there is every opportunity to fully investigate the site before joining us.

  • Do I have to make all my sales on this site?

    No, of course not. You are free to conduct your business anywhere you like, even for transactions initiated here. Feel free to complete a transaction off site if you wish. Main Street Vintage is simply a venue bringing buyer and seller together. All business transactions are made directly between the buyer and seller in whatever format they wish to use and agree to.

  • Are there final sales fees or other hidden fees for the buyer or the seller?

    The seller pays a flat monthly fee for access to their store with the ability to list a prescribed number of listings. Main Street Malls charges no other fees beyond that; no listing fees, no final sales fees, no transaction fees, etc. There may be fees for payment services such as PayPal, if you choose to use them, but those have nothing to do with Main Street Malls and are directly between you and the outside service(s) you choose to use.

  • Can I only sell one product line on this site?

    Each mall site is designed for a particular product range, accessories and related items. Anything that is directly related to the product focus of the particular mall is suitable for sale in that mall. For example, in the vintage clothing mall, vintage purses, vintage hats, vintage scarves, vintage gloves, vintage belts and vintage jewelry would all be acceptable items. In the musical instruments mall, sheet music, accessories and replacement parts like picks and strings for guitars, books about musical instruments and teaching aids relating to musical instruments would all be acceptable. If you are unsure if something you wish to sell is suitable for a particular mall, please ask.

  • Do you offer sites similar to this mall for sellers of other like collectibles, teddy bears, dolls or toys, or even just for general merchandise?

    Yes we do. See our current (and coming soon) malls on the mall directory or contact the site owner for details: lora@ourhutch.com.

  • Is there a "profile" or "about me" page available for each seller on this site?

    Not at this time. A "seller profile" page, which can have one or more pictures and a place for you to tell a little about yourself and/or your business is under consideration and may be added soon.

  • Can I use HTML in my store description or listings?

    No, not at this time. A good selection of suitable backgrounds is offered in the store setup and listing functions, where you can also choose font styles and colors. You can include your own off-site background and pictures (hosted with us or elsewhere). Multiple choices in the listing design layouts in the store, listing and profile page setups will make your store unique without the need for HTML, thus there is no need for additional HTML in stores, listings or profiles at this time. Please do not try to use any. We may add this feature at a later date if there is enough interest.

  • Can I link to off-site web pages or advertise items not listed on this site?

    Yes, you can, with some very minimal restrictions. You may put as many links as you wish, as follows:

    • to other Main Street Mall stores (your own or those of other sellers), to other Main Street Mall listings, or to other Main Street Mall or Our Hutch websites, or

    • to your own websites, stores, shops, individual listings, profile pages or other selling or information pages on other venues or selling sites, or

    • to other websites or web pages that offer help, or provide information or discussion, relating directly to any items such as would be allowed for sale here.

    You cannot link to other websites, pages, documents or graphics that would be considered offensive, pornographic or illegal. The final decision in these matters will be up to the Main Street Mall site owner.
